Step 1: Our Mission
Read and agree with the WAGS Mission Statement
Step 2: Membership Meeting
Attend your first monthly membership meeting. We kindly ask that you not bring your animal to your first meeting. See our 2018 schedule for information about upcoming membership meetings.
Step 3: Orientation and Membership
Guests who wish to join WAGS will attend our 1-hour WAGS Orientation Class following the membership meeting. The Orientation Class starts at about 10:45am, directly after the membership meeting is finished.
During the WAGS Orientation Class you will learn the about:
- the mission of WAGS
- the history of the organization
- expectations and responsibilities of membership
- cost of membership
- opportunities for members within the organization and how you can become involved
**While WAGS pets are allowed at the membership meetings, space constraints prevent allowing any pets in the Orientation Class area.
Step 4: Pay the WAGS joining fee & membership dues
New members pay a one-time joining fee of $10.00 with their first year’s dues and then annual dues thereafter. Membership fees will be discussed in more detail at the WAGS Orientation Class. Most members join during orientation.
Annual Membership Dues
- $30.00 – 1 year
- $50.00 – 2 years
- $250.00 – Lifetime Membership
There is good news for our young adult Membership from ages 18 – 21 years. You can join WAGS without paying a joining fee or dues!
Step 5: Get Involved!
While many of our volunteers join WAGS with the goal of becoming visiting Ambassador teams, WAGS is a large and diverse organization and there are many ways you can help out. We have several committees that handle things like fundraising, social media, special events, web management, teaching orientation classes, evaluating dogs – and that is just a few! If you have a skill or talent to offer, we would love to hear from you!
