Important Message from the WAGS Nominating Committee
Dear WAGS Members,
The WAGS Bylaws provide:
“In September of each year, the Board of Directors shall appoint a Nominating Committee to solicit nominations and, if necessary, conduct a vote of members to elect officers. The slate of candidates shall be presented to the membership by/at the November meeting. Voting for the officers shall be conducted and certified by/at the December meeting. Newly elected officers shall take office on January 1st of the following year. All officers shall serve a 1-year term except that the Treasurer shall serve a 2-year term.”
We have received nominations for all the officer positions for 2026, except for President Elect. Therefore, the time to nominate a member for President Elect has been extended to Monday, October 13, 2025.
Now is the opportunity for you to help WAGS grow. The last few years have been an exciting time as we have accomplished so much – providing more love from our furry friends and greatly increasing our income so we are free of financial worries, thanks to many of you who supported our fundraising events. Because WAGS is a vibrant group with outstanding Committee Chairs, the incoming President’s job will be much easier.
Please think hard about who you would like as our next President Elect or whether it’s time for you to lead the WAGS you love.
WAGS policy provides that any “nominee must be a member for at least one year before being eligible to run.” nBefore making a nomination, please first get the nominee’s consent. Email your nomination to Donna Parks. Please provide your name and the name of the member you are nominating. The committee will contact your nominee to verify that they accept the nomination.
We will then present a slate of all nominees to the members by email. If more than one person has been nominated for an office, we will provide instructions for voting so that we can certify the results by the December meeting.
Thank you.
