Important Message from the WAGS Nominating Committee

Dear WAGS Members,

The WAGS Bylaws provide:

“In September of each year, the Board of Directors shall appoint a Nominating Committee to solicit nominations and, if necessary, conduct a vote of members to elect officers. The slate of candidates shall be presented to the membership by/at the November meeting. Voting for the officers shall be conducted and certified by/at the December meeting. Newly elected officers shall take office on January 1st of the following year. All officers shall serve a 1-year term except that the Treasurer shall serve a 2- year term.”

Three officers’ terms will expire on December 31, namely:

  •    President Elect (1-year term, followed by 1 year as President and then 1 year as Past President)
  •    Vice President (1-year term)
  •    Secretary (1-year term)

As the Nominating Committee, we are now soliciting nominations for these three offices. The current VP has agreed to serve another term beginning January 1, but a member may still run for these offices.

Attached is the job description for each position that is open.

WAGS policy provides that any “nominee must be a member for at least one year before being eligible to run.” If you wish to make a nomination, please do so no later than our deadline of SEPTEMBER 29, 2025.

Before making a nomination, please first get the nominee’s consent.

Email your nomination to Donna Parks. Please provide your name, the office, and the name of the member you are nominating. The committee will contact your nominee to verify that they accept the nomination.

We will then present a slate of all nominees to the members by email. If more than one person has been nominated for an office, we will provide instructions for voting so that we can certify the results by the November meeting.

Thank you.
